Corner Cube Technology

The 'Corner Cube' design is a geometric marvel: it consists of three mutually perpendicular reflecting surfaces. This ensures that any light beam entering the prism is reflected exactly 180 degrees back to its source, regardless of the angle at which it hits the prism.

This characteristic is vital for structural monitoring where a building might shift slightly; the G92-700PT will continue to return a perfect signal to the Total Station without needing to be physically realigned.

Optimized for AMTS

In Automated Motorized Total Station (AMTS) systems, the instrument searches for and 'locks' onto targets 24/7. The G92-700PT's high-reflectivity glass allows the AMTS to identify the target center with sub-millimeter repeatability, even at extreme distances or through light rain and fog.

Durability in Harsh Environments

Optical clarity is the key to accurate monitoring. Our prisms feature a protective 'hood' or rain shield that prevents water droplets and dust from accumulating on the glass face.

Furthermore, the rear reflecting surfaces are hermetically sealed and coated with silver or copper to prevent the oxidation and 'clouding' that often ruins cheaper, unprotected prisms over a multi-year project.

Offset and Constants

To ensure the Total Station measures the *true* distance to the pivot point of the mount, the G92-700PT is calibrated with a specific 'Prism Constant.' This value is factored into the survey software, ensuring that the 3D coordinate calculated is precisely that of the structural attachment point, not just the front of the glass.
